What is Speech and Language Therapy?

Speech and Language Therapists provide treatment, support and care for people of all ages who have difficulties with communication, or with eating, drinking and swallowing.

Therapy can support with primary speech, language and communication difficulties, such as stammering and speech and language difficulties that may be secondary to other conditions. It can also help people affected as a result of medical conditions or illnesses.

Therapists often work effectively alongside other professionals, such as Teachers, Occupational Therapists and Doctors.
